Sita Mata Flying Squirrel Viewing Season

During February and March the sanctuary's mahua trees shed their leaves, making the night-loving flying squirrel (Petaurista philippensis) easier to spot as it glides between bare branches around sunset, especially near the Arampura forest chowki. This falls within the sanctuary's prime visiting window of October to February. The forest hosts rich birdlife, leopards and four-horned antelope across the Aravalli-Vindhya-Malwa transition zone.
