About Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary

Named after the Jaipur maharaja who founded it in 1955, Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary was carved from the larger Ranthambore reserve and is often treated as part of the Ranthambore ecosystem. It shares the region's dry deciduous forest and houses tiger, leopard, chital and sambar. It complements Ranthambore's core as buffer habitat.
