About Kuldhara
Kuldhara is an abandoned 13th-century village near Jaisalmer, once home to the wealthy Paliwal Brahmin community. According to legend, the villagers abandoned it overnight in the 19th century to escape the tyranny of a local minister, leaving it deserted ever since. The ruins of stone houses, temples and baoris now draw visitors interested in the 'ghost village' story.
