Established in 1993, Jawahar Kala Kendra is a prominent cultural center dedicated to preserving and promoting Rajasthani arts, crafts, and traditions. It serves as a hub for various artistic disciplines, including visual arts, performing arts, literature, and traditional crafts.

Architecture:

Designed by the renowned architect Charles Correa, the structure of Kala Kendra is inspired by the ancient Indian architectural principles of Vastu Shastra. Its layout is based on the concept of the Navagraha (nine planets), with each section of the building representing one celestial body. The design features red sandstone, open courtyards, and detailed carvings reflecting the essence of Rajasthan’s heritage.
