Located within the historic Chittorgarh Fort, Jaimal and Patta’s Palace is a symbol of bravery and sacrifice. This palace honors the legendary Rajput warriors Jaimal Rathore of Merta and Patta Sisodia of Kelwa, who became immortal in Rajasthani folklore for their heroic defense during the Siege of Chittorgarh in 1568.
In 1568, when Emperor Akbar attacked Chittorgarh, the fort was defended with unmatched courage by Jaimal and Patta after Rana Udai Singh II retreated to the hills.
Though heavily outnumbered, both warriors fought valiantly till their last breath.
Jaimal was killed by a cannon shot fired by Akbar himself, and Patta died soon after in fierce combat.
This memorial palace within Chittorgarh Fort stands as a tribute to their heroism, loyalty, and patriotism.
While the original structure is mostly in ruins, it offers a poignant historical atmosphere and panoramic views of the fort.
Statues of Jaimal and Patta mounted on elephants can also be seen near the Victory Tower (Vijay Stambh), serving as a reminder of their gallantry.
