Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected forest area located about 32 km from Bikaner, near Gajner Palace and Lake. Once the royal hunting grounds of the Bikaner Maharajas, the sanctuary is now a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and nature lovers.

  • The sanctuary is home to various animal species like:

    • Nilgai (blue bull)

    • Chinkara (Indian gazelle)

    • Blackbuck

    • Wild boar

    • Desert fox

    • Jackal

  • In winter, migratory birds including the imperial sandgrouse, flamingos, pelicans, and demoiselle cranes visit the area, especially around Gajner Lake.

Vegetation:
  • Dominated by dry deciduous and desert vegetation such as:

    • Khejri

    • Babul

    • Ber

    • Neem

  • Wildlife Safari: Jeep safaris are organized to explore the sanctuary and spot animals in their natural habitat.
