Light & Sound Show at MACHKUND

 About the Show

• Inaugurated in December 2021 by the district collector and Rajasthan’s CM, The Light & Sound Show at MACHKUND was part of a state-wide push at five key heritage sites—including Chittorgarh Fort, Gadsisar Lake, Jaipur, Nagaur, and of course, Machkund—to boost tourism 

• It cost around ₹80 crore and incorporates high-end technology:

  • 3-chip DLP projectors (25,000 lumens)

  • DMX‑controlled LED lighting

  • 5.1‑channel surround sound 

• The story narrated includes:

  • Lord Krishna’s tales

  • The demon Kaliya

  • The epic battle involving Machkund Maharaj and Jarasandha 

 Show Timing & Entry

• Current schedule (per recent visitor report):

  • 7:30–8:00 PM (Hindi)

  • 8:00–8:30 PM (English)

  • Entry: ~₹40 per person

  • The program typically runs on most evenings—though you should check locally for any off days or special closures.

 Facilities & Access

• Located about 4 km from Dholpur city, accessible via a direct road on the Gwalior–Agra Highway 

• Supported by government investment (~₹5 crore from central tourism ministry plus ₹19.4 crore) to improve:

  • Parking, pathways, rest areas, temple renovation,

  • Lighting, Wi‑Fi, signage, CCTV, drinking water, restrooms
