The origins of Badnore Fort trace back to the 14th century when Maharana Lakha established the town of Badnore after demolishing Bairathgarh, a stronghold of local bandits . In 1554, the fort and its surrounding jagir, comprising 210 villages, were granted to Rao Jaimal Rathore by the Maharana of Mewar for his services . The fort later played a role in the Battle of Bandanwara in 1711, where Rajput forces, including Jai Singh of Badnor, successfully defended the territory against the Mughals.
