The Rani Bhatiyani Temple, also known as Majisa Mandir, is a revered Hindu shrine located in Jasol village, near Balotra in the Barmer district of Rajasthan, India.  Historical and Mythological Significance

Rani Bhatiyani, originally named Swarup Kanwar, was a Rajput princess from the Bhati clan of Jaisalmer. She was married to Kalyan Singh, a Rathore prince of Jasol. According to legend, due to the treachery of Kalyan Singh’s second wife, Swarup Kanwar’s son, Lal Singh, died at a young age. Overwhelmed by grief, Swarup Kanwar passed away. After her death, she is believed to have manifested as a benevolent spirit, blessing her devotees and becoming a deity revered as Majisa (Mother) by the locals.

Notably, materials and scriptures from a Jain temple in Khed were used in its construction, reflecting a blend of religious influences. The temple is especially significant to the Manganiar bard community, who believe that Rani Bhatiyani once granted a divine vision to a Manganiar singer. She is affectionately called Majisa, and songs are sung in her honor by bards.
